Phasmophobia is a fear of ghosts or other apparitions. It’s a type of specific phobia, and it can lead to panic attacks in people who have the condition. Some phobics may feel like they’re losing control while others might experience detachment from reality when scared by spooks
“Phasmophobia, or fear of ghosts, is a psychological condition in which the sufferer has a strong and irrational fear of ghosts.”
The Raiju is one of Phasmophobia’s three new ghosts, and it is the most deadly of the three. In fact, when it hunts, the Raiju is such a formidable ghost that it may be even more lethal than the Revenant. Once you discover you’re dealing with a Raiju, you’ll need to play with caution.
How to Tell If a Raiju Is a Ghost
The Raiju is one of the few ghosts that can start a hunt with a level of sanity exceeding 50%. It may begin hunting between 60 and 70 percent Sanity, placing it in the same class as other aggressive ghosts like Demon, Banshee, Yokai, and Onryo in terms of attacking before you’re ready.
The Raiju can only start a quest in the 60 percent to 70 percent Sanity zone if there are technological equipment surrounding the ghost, which is almost always the case. The Raiju may be triggered to hunt early by the EMF Reader, Thermometer, Parabolic Mic, both Flashlights, D.O.T.S. Projector, Photo Cameras, and Video Cameras.
The three pieces of proof required for the Raiju are now as follows:
- EMF 5
- Orbs of the Dead
- D.O.T.S.
It’s practically impossible to resist ghost hunting in the early stages.
This isn’t, however, the worst aspect of the situation. Raiju’s dangerousness stems from the fact that it travels quicker near electrical equipment during hunts. Regardless of whether it has line of sight on a player, it will haul absolute sh*t.
Fortunately, the Raiju’s speed near electronics is a dead giveaway as to what kind of ghost it is while hunting, since it sounds practically galloping.

If you wish to take photographs or fulfill other goals once you’ve figured out what the Raiju is, you’ll need to remove any triggering gadgets from the home.
Electronics in the player’s hands will also activate this ability, thus if you have any kind of electronic in your hands, it will speed up when it gets near to you.
It’s critical to switch off any portable gadgets, and you don’t want to drop your Photo Camera while running. The Raiju can travel quicker inside its radius since the Photo Cam remains on when put on the floor. It’s dangerous! Instead, switch to an other thing in your hand. Make sure you don’t drop your camera.
Motion and Sound Sensors, for example, do not input the Raiju’s speed.
When the Raiju’s speed ability is active, it cannot go faster than a Revenant, which is a benefit. It can, however, move quickly regardless of whether it sees you or not, which makes it considerably more deadly in most situations.
When you’re up against a Raiju, every device you’ve put up will be working against you, and the Raiju’s early hunting powers may make quick work of unskilled gamers. If you have an early hunt, keep your ears out for rapid steps; you may just be able to identify the Raiju and sweep up the other objectives before it becomes too aggressive.
Good luck with the next Raiju you come across! If you liked this tutorial, you may also like our tips on how to survive The Twins and how to survive an Onryo in Phasmophobia.
