Neverwinter’s next campaign, Echoes of Prophecy, is due to launch on June 4th. The game will include free and paid battlepasses.
PWE and Cryptic announced this morning that they’re starting a new campaign for Neverwinter, with what seems to be two levels of battle pass. The DLC, dubbed Echoes of Prophecy, will be available for free on PC and console on the same day, October 1st, with a second and third “milestone” on November 1st and December 1st, respectively.
“As the Cult of the Dragon returns to the city of Neverwinter in Echoes of Prophecy, tales of anomalies in the Weave have traveled from the freezing north of Icewind Dale to the scorching southern Dambrath. Players explore this strange phenomena and seek for answers with the renowned Sage of Shadowdale Elminster Aumar and the assembling groups forming the Shield of the North in the hopes of restoring peace to Faerûn. Echoes of Prophecy’s epic campaign will be divided into three distinct phases. On October 1, adventurers begin their investigation into the Cult of the Dragon’s reappearance and face the cult’s strong priests to thwart their intentions, with the first milestone releasing on PC and consoles. The remaining milestones further the narrative of Echoes of Prophecy, allowing players to learn more about the cult’s reappearance and why the Weave has changed in unexpected ways.”
It seems similar to the regular Neverwinter campaign, but with limited-time accomplishments and treasure — and, yep, a “premium battle pass” with “added benefits.” PWE has not said what they are or how much this would cost.
“Each milestone will offer limited-time prizes, such as new mounts, cosmetic items, and emotes, in addition to fresh narrative material and tough enemies,” the company adds. “By checking in, playing through the campaign, and completing recurring tasks, adventurers will automatically earn free, unique prizes for each milestone. Players may also buy a premium battle pass to gain even more rewards.”
